Mastopexy is a cosmetic surgery that corrects drooping breasts. When the skin of the breasts loosens because of weight issues or deterioration due to age or pregnancy, there can be an excessive drop of the breast line, called ptosis. It is very common for the breasts to lose firmness. That area, including the neck, does not hold more than the skin can hold by itself. There are no bones to support it.

Mastopexy (breast lift) is one of the surgeries performed by Dr. Rodriguez Balasquide, which aims to correct breast ptosis, or raise and shape the breast. A series of surgical incisions are needed to correct excess breast sagging, lifting and correcting its volume and aesthetic appearance.

 

The patient uses a postoperative support for 1 to 3 months. Going back to sports or recreational activities can take up to 1-3 months, and always require the use of sunscreen. But work related activities can be re-started as soon as 5 days, depending on individual progress.
