OTOPLASTY

Otoplastia.jpg

Prominent or big “handle” ears are the most common ear deformity. It is usually congenital and always benign. Purely aesthetic, this malformation can happen unilaterally (one ear) or bilaterally (both ears). There are other ear malformations, like too small or damaged ears.

The plastic aesthetic surgery performed by Dr. Rodriguez-Balasquide consists on re-shaping the cartilage creases that form the ear, improving its appearance. There are various techniques to accomplish these corrections. The incisions for an otoplasty usually happen behind the ear, so the scars are hidden behind and barely noticeable.
